Longview is a Blackstone portfolio company focused on senior housing. Headquartered in Tampa, Florida, Longview oversees a high-quality portfolio that extends nationally with 90 properties across 23 states. Our team directs over 9,000 units of premier independent living, assisted living, memory care, and CCRC community operations. We focus on community strategy, including financial planning and management company selection, re-positionings and renovations.  Through this process we collaborate with our experienced community managers to maximize returns for our investors. Our goal is to provide capital and strategic oversight so that our community managers can offer the highest quality care and accommodations to our residents. Our Team

Thilo D. Best

CEO

Thilo joined Longview Senior Housing Advisors in February 2018. Prior to Longview, he was a Co-founder and Principal of Bayshore Retirement Partners which develops and owns senior housing projects in the southeastern U. S. Thilo was also the Founder, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Horizon Bay Retirement Living until September 2011 when he sold Horizon Bay, the industry’s 9th largest operator, to Brookdale Senior Living, the nation’s largest senior housing company, and joined Brookdale as Chief Investment Officer.

 

Prior to Horizon Bay, Thilo was Treasurer and Senior Vice President of Finance at Holiday Retirement Corporation, the largest owner and operator of independent living communities in the U.S., where he was a partner in Holiday real estate ventures, and a member of the Board of Directors. He also held several positions at Prudential Financial, Inc. where he founded the senior housing lending group.

 

He was the chairman of the board for the National Investment Center for the Seniors Housing and Care Industries (NIC) from 2002 to 2004 and a board member from 1997 to 2005, a past member of the Board of Directors for the Assisted Living Federation of American, and a past member of the Executive Board of the American Seniors Housing Association.

 

Mr. Best has a Master of Business Administration from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, and a Master of Science in Real Estate from Georgia State University. He attended the University of Georgia where he received his BBA in finance.

Ann Bargeron

Senior Vice President - Community Strategy

Ann joined Longview in February 2018 as Senior Vice President, Community Strategy.  Prior to Longview, Ann spent almost five years with Sentio Investments, advisor to Sentio Healthcare Properties, Inc., a public, non-traded REIT that merged with a private real estate investor in August 2017.  As Vice President of Asset Management, Ann’s responsibilities included strategic planning, Board reporting, relationship management with the company’s 14 property managers and implementation of best practices.  She also determined the repositioning strategy for several large community renovations.

 

Prior to Sentio, Ann spent nine years as a consultant for Arcapita, a Bahraini-based, sharia’h compliant private equity firm.  She developed the asset management function for their senior housing portfolio of approximately $1.5 billion, invested in 78 senior housing assets throughout the U.S. and United Kingdom.  While working with Arcapita, Ann was instrumental in developing the repositioning strategy for an underperforming CCRC portfolio by selecting and transitioning to a new manager and restructuring the debt and equity.

 

Ann began her involvement in the senior housing industry with Prudential Mortgage Capital, originating mortgages to senior housing owners and later working with Prudential Real Estate Investors, securing mortgage financing for Prudential’s SHP funds investing in senior housing properties.

 

Ann is an honor graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Management. 

Rick Paquette

Vice President - Capital Assets

Rick joined Longview Senior Housing Advisors in March 2018. Prior to Longview he managed Capital Assets for CB Richard Ellis, the world’s largest Real Estate Services provider. Rick was also founder and Senior Managing Director of CCS Real Estate Services, a company delivering strategic due diligence services, consulting and Capital Asset management exclusively to the Senior Care sector.

Prior to founding CCS Real Estate Services, Rick spent more than ten years as a Divisional Director of Facilities Asset Management for Brookdale Senior Living, the nation’s largest senior housing company. Rick also spent more than 7 years as a Director of Facilities with Southern Assisted Living Inc. which was acquired by Brookdale Senior living in 2006.

Rick also spent 4 years as a Cluster Facilities Engineer with Marriott International in the full services Hotel sector.

 

Mr. Paquette is a Licensed Real Estate Broker and serves on the board of one of the largest HOA’s in the Charlotte Metro Area. He holds various certifications in HVAC and Mechanical trades.

Robert M. Price

Real Estate Analyst

Robert joined Longview Senior Housing Advisors as a Real Estate Analyst in March 2018.

Prior to joining Longview, Robert worked at Raymond James Tax Credit Funds as an Acquisitions Analyst. In this role, Robert was an integral part of the Feasibility Team responsible for reviewing potential acquisitions of low income housing properties, and supporting acquisition investments from feasibility review through equity closing. Robert's experience includes acquisitions of new construction development projects, as well as rehabilitation construction projects for both senior housing and family occupancy properties.

Prior to his employment at Raymond James, Robert worked for a national real estate brokerage firm underwriting commercial properties.

 

Robert attended Florida State University where he earned Bachelor of Science degrees in both Finance and Real Estate. Robert earned his Master of Science in Real Estate degree from the University of Florida. Additionally, Robert holds a Florida Real Estate License. 

 

Robert is a Tampa native and enjoys mentoring Pinellas County Students by participating in the local Lunch Pals program. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, fishing, paddle boarding, mountain biking, snow skiing, and traveling.

Matthew Robinson

Senior Vice President - Community Strategy

Matt joined Longview in April 2018 as Senior Vice President, Community Strategy.  Prior to Longview, Matt spent nearly three years with Colony Capital, a publicly traded, diversified REIT. As Vice President of Asset Management, Matt oversaw a portfolio of roughly 180 senior housing and skilled nursing properties with over a dozen operators, tenants, and joint venture partners. In this role, Matt was responsible for maximizing portfolio NOI through operator transitions, NNN lease restructures, asset sales, and strategic capital investment.

 

Prior to Colony, Matt spent four years with Ventas, Inc., a publicly traded healthcare REIT. As a Director of Asset Management, Matt oversaw day to day asset management of the bulk of Ventas’ senior housing triple net leased portfolio, comprised over roughly 500 properties and 30+ tenant relationships. His duties included lease renewals and restructuring, as well as asset sales and re-positioning. He began his tenure with Ventas as an Asset Manager in the SHOP (RIDEA) group, responsible for driving performance in a portfolio of roughly 50 properties operated by two nationally known senior housing providers.

 

Matt began his career in the senior housing space at Sunrise Senior Living, where he maintained relationships with various capital partners who, in aggregate, owned roughly 125 Sunrise-operated properties. His responsibilities included managing the annual budget approval process and acting as a liaison between Sunrise operating personnel and their institutional capital partners.

 

Matt is a cum laude graduate of James Madison University, with a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree

Rachel Rangelov

Senior Vice President - Design & Construction

Rachel joined Longview in May of 2018 as Senior Vice President, Design and Construction. Prior to joining Longview, Rachel was the principal of Saddle Rock Consulting where she was actively involved in identifying opportunities to develop new seniors housing projects, completing due diligence for acquisitions, team selection and oversight of design and construction projects. During her time with Saddle Rock, she was involved in over $300M in seniors housing projects.

Prior to establishing Saddle Rock Consulting, Rachel was the NE Director of Design and Development for Watermark Retirement Communities, and SVP at The Freshwater Group. For over 11 years, Rachel was responsible for managing large capital and ROI projects as well as identifying opportunities for new development within Watermark’s primary markets.

Rachel began her career in construction management where during her 11 years as a project manager, she was involved in a variety of projects including commercial tenant renovations, medical office, and design-build projects for the US Department of the Army and the US Coast Guard.

Rachel holds a certificate in Construction Management and attended Albertus Magnus College and Harvard Extension School.

Adam Rybka

Vice President - Community Strategy

 

Adam joined Longview Senior Housing Advisors in April 2018 as Vice President, Community Strategy.  Prior to Longview, Adam spent over two years with Care Capital Properties, Inc, a publicly traded healthcare REIT, where he managed a portfolio of almost 100 skilled nursing and senior housing properties.  He was responsible for developing and implementing strategies which protected and expanded a $1B portfolio of net-leased assets, and included operator transitions and recapitalizations, capital investments, development, asset sales and acquisitions.

 

Prior to the Care Capital Properties spin-off, Adam spent three years with Ventas, Inc., a publicly traded healthcare REIT, in several roles within asset management and financial reporting.  At Ventas, he oversaw a similarly-sized portfolio comprised of leased and loan assets, and was responsible for protecting and maximizing Ventas’ investment through proactive asset management and strategic capital allocation.  In his Financial Planning and Reporting role, Adam facilitated the design and enhancement of a proprietary asset management system, and was also responsible for the quarterly financial reporting functions.

 

Adam has a Master of Business Administration from DePaul’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business in Real Estate Finance and Investments.  He attended the University of Illinois at Chicago where he received his Bachelors of Science in Finance.  He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute and the DePaul Real Estate Alumni Alliance.

William Roosa

Vice President - Community Strategy

Bill joined Longview in October 2018 as Vice President, Community Strategy.  Bill has more than 18 years of experience in various aspects of both real estate investment and financial services supporting unique relationships and assets in both Healthcare & Lifestyle Real-Estate.  Prior to Longview, Bill served as the Director of Asset Management for CNL Financial Group specializing in the senior housing and healthcare sector. In this role, Bill oversaw ownership initiatives with a focus on independent living, assisted living and memory care senior housing properties for CNL Healthcare Properties, Inc.

 

Before transitioning to the healthcare team in 2014, Bill served as Manager of Investments for CNL Lifestyle Properties where he focused on assets in the amusement park, theme park, waterpark and golf industries.  Before his asset management and operational oversight responsibilities for CNL Lifestyle Properties, he served as their Senior Financial Analyst in acquisitions & dispositions, responsible for investment underwriting, financial analysis on Lifestyle Real Estate assets.  Bill initially joined CNL Capital Markets as a licensed registered representative and internal wholesaler.  Here Bill worked with financial advisors in sales and services for the company’s various REIT offerings. 

 

Bill earned his Bachelor of Science in Finance degree from the University of Central Florida and is certified in Florida Assisted Living Facilities CORE training & Alzheimer’s Level I.

Tanner Ziebarth

Real Estate Analyst

Tanner joined Longview Senior Housing Advisors as a Real Estate Analyst in May 2018.  Prior to joining Longview, Tanner worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP (PwC) as a Real Estate Associate within the Financial Markets group. At PwC, Tanner performed property and loan portfolio valuations for purchase accounting, advised corporations on real estate strategy, and supported PwC’s audit teams in testing fair value measurements as it relates to real estate equity and real estate debt. Tanner has experience in valuing real estate across all major property types including medical, multifamily, retail, office, and industrial. His clients at PwC included major corporate owners/users, developers, private equity funds, banks and REITs.

Tanner attended the University of Florida where he earned both a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a Master of Science degree in Real Estate. Additionally, Tanner is a member of the Real Estate Investment Council (REIC) of Tampa Bay and Society of Real Estate Professionals (SOREP).
